If you’re coming via Wapping Lane and Pennington Street, the Meatopia entrance is the first arch on your left. You will see the signs.
Tobacco Dock is located at the junction of Wapping Lane and Pennington Street, E1. Nearest rail and DLR stations are Shadwell and Wapping – both no more than a 5 minute walk. Click here for map.
The site is very accessible as it has lifts to both levels, but it may be challenging for people who have limited mobility. For this reason we allow a carer to come for free. For more information on Tobacco Dock’s facilities for the disabled please contact email@example.com
Each day between 20 – 30 Chefs create a unique dish and cook it right in front of you, over fire. You eat as many as you like using Meatbucks to redeem dishes. You while away the afternoon: eating, drinking, dancing and sharing stories – generally soaking up the atmosphere.
You can buy them in advance with your tickets, but they will be readily available on-site from MeatBuck points or the roving MeatBucaneers.
Meatopia has a wide variety of drinks available from any of our bars and can be purchased on-site with a card.
Meatopia is now a cashless festival, so please bring your bank cards and contactless payment devices and leave your change at home.
The coals will be burning bright from gate opening time until it runs out… (same as before) so don’t come too late and miss the most popular dishes.
Yes on Friday - Sunday you can get in half an hour. Thursday EarlyBird’s will get priority access at 4pm.
Meatopia is probably not great for vegetarians or vegans, though everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the music, bars, demos and atmosphere.
For the health and safety of everyone on site, we have to limit the number of under 18s at the festival. You will need a children’s ticket for any children coming to the show.
No, sorry. Dogs and fresh meat don’t mix very well so only guide dogs are allowed at Meatopia.
